Color!

Sunday turned out to be just beautiful and we took a drive into downtown Rogers as some of the trees in the older parts of town are really old and just unbelievably beautiful with fall colors.

Dude! Move your truck.  Can’t see the tree for your stupid white truck!  Downtown Rogers.

Beautiful old building downtown.  Someone should really think about turning these into condos or apartments.  Sitting empty.  What a waste.

More tree loveliness!

I know.  It is a black and white – no color.  I just liked the arches and perspective.

And, then we drove out Hwy 62 on the North Side of Beaver Lake.  A buffalo herd lives up that way.  Ta-TONK-A!

We drove down some pretty narrow roads in search of pretty views of the lake.

And, finally ended up at the old Whitney Mountain Lodge.  It is currently closed, but the views from the back deck are still beautiful!

The colors should be peaking in the next couple of weeks.  I’ll be out taking more photographs and posting them for your enjoyment.

Oh goodness, it’s home! I grew up walking around those places and spending a good deal of time in the “library” which is now the museum, I think. They had tried several times to turn that big old brown building into condos or something, Dad says it used to be a pretty impressive hotel and then they made it into a nursing home place I think. My first real job was at the Drug Store fountain in downtown, where the Coke sign is painted on the brick. Lost Bridge is a beautiful part of the lake.

  2. Absolutely glorious….
