Recipe: Chex Party Mix

The holidays just wouldn’t be the same without a couple of bowls of “trash”. My mother-in-law calls this trash and she always makes a regular batch and a HOT batch. We consume this stuff by the buckets!

Chex Party Mix

1/2 stick butter or margarine
1 1/4 teaspoons seasoned salt
4 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 2/3 cups Corn Chex cereal
2 2/3 cups Rice Chex cereal
2 2/3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
1 cup salted mixed nuts
1 cup small pretzel sticks
(if you want to make it HOT, add a couple of Tablespoons of Tabasco Sauce)

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In open roasting pan, melt butter in oven. Remove pan from oven and stir in salt and the Worcestershire sauce (and Tabasco if you’re spicing things up!). Gradually add cereals, nuts and pretzels, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated with butter mixture. Bake one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

Y’all Enjoy! 🙂
