“Time Marches On….”

Posted by starwoodgal on September 5, 2010

“and then you realize it is marching across your face”.  (Truvy – Steel Magnolias)

Hello blogladites!  It has been a long time.  A LONG time.  Honestly, I haven’t had too much to Blog about other than my job – which has pretty much taken over my life since last spring.  You see, I work as a project manager in the IT industry and the summer is the busy season when customers want to hurry up and upgrade everything before the busy Christmas retail season hits.  Currently, I’m working on 4 different projects.  Yes – four.  Three for IBM and the other for Wal-Mart.  Craziness ensues………… daily.   But, I finally have something I can talk about.  Something not work related.  Something really exciting (for us) and something I was sworn to secrecy about  until the first 12 weeks were over.

I'm going to be a grandmother next March!

Am I old enough?  Probably.

I promise to start posting new recipes and stories.  Fall is finally here and lots of things are going on in NWA.   Love to all!

Favorite Foto Friday

Posted by starwoodgal on December 17, 2009

Welcome to Starwood Gals’ Favorite Foto Friday where she uses pictures shared by family and friends to entertain the three people who read this blog. Today’s photo – little brother Rusty. Photo provided on FB by my beautiful sister-in-law, Julie – aka Rusty’s Trophy Wife. (it is okay to call her that – she calls herself that). Today I’m demonstrating my skills at matching ‘Celebrity Look-alike’ photos. Tell me if I got this all wrong.

Nope.  I think that’s pretty spot-on.   ‘Merry Christmas, Sh*’r was full!’

Oh – that’s Rusty on the left.

Luke’s Leminade Stand

Posted by starwoodgal on November 5, 2009

This darling young entrepanure is Luke.   Luke is my nephew (Rusty and Julie’s Son).   Luke is their youngest of three boys.   Luke is the quiet, funny type and not in an ‘on-purpose’ way.   He just does these things that make me crack up.

Case in point. Yesterday, my SIL – Julie - posted a little pictorial about Luke’s Leminade (that’s how he spelled it) Stand. Rusty, Julie, and the fam live in Reno, Nevada and Facebook allows us to share stories and photographs of what goes on our everyday lives. And, that’s a good thing. Otherwise – I’d miss out on little gems like this one. So here we go:

Our little salesman, Luke

One day, Luke decided he would sell 'Leminade' and opened a stand at the end of the driveway. "Leminade - .56 cents per glass"

He was ready for the crowd. Poised. Ready to serve.

'Hey Luke! What'cha doing?", his mother asked. "I'm working", he replied.

Time passed and his mother peeked out the window to see if her little man was still ‘workin’ it’.  And, he was ‘workin’ it’.  The lemonade – that is.

A word to the wise. Don't buy the lemonade.

Ahhh, Lukie!  I love ya boy.  Thanks for the giggles.

  ;)    Your Aunt Starwoodgal
