Recipe: Baked Gouda
Posted by starwoodgal on September 16, 2008
Good Morning Fellow Blogladites!
I pondered about what recipe to post this week when hubby spoke up and said “Hey, why don’t you make that breaded cheesy, wheelie thing anymore.” (Don’t you love it when they just spell it out for you!) Well, he was right. I hadn’t made the breaded, cheesy, wheelie thing in a long, long time and I just might make it this weekend. Thought I’d share it with you as it does make a pretty appetizer for a party or whatever. Really easy to make and here’s the best part – CHEAP! Pour up one of your favorite fruity wines and have a go at it.
Bake Gouda
1 7 oz. package Gouda cheese
1 4 oz. can refrigerated quick Crescent Rolls
2 tablespoon strawberry preserves
1 Egg white, beaten
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Remove the wax casing from the cheese. Separate Crescent Rolls into 2 rectangles; seal perforations. Spoon preserves over center of dough. Place cheese in center of dough; Bring corners together over cheese. Pinch edges to seal. Place seam side down on a cookie sheet. Brush dough with egg white. Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm. Brace yourself – it is da-lish!
Y’all Enjoy!
