Sangria the easy way…..

Posted by starwoodgal on June 28, 2008

This is by far the easiest Sangria recipe I’ve ever tried and it is ding-dang deeeeeeee-lish!

1 750ml bottle of some red wine (I prefer Merlot, but any red wine will do)
2 Cups Orange Juice
1 Can Ginger Ale (can use Diet or regular)
1 Juicy Orange Sliced
Slices of orange, lemon and lime for garnish and additional flavor.

Note:  you can also add frozen berries for color and flavor.

Chill wine, orange juice and ginger ale for a while.
Mix wine, oj and ginger ale.
Slice up the orange. Squeeze each slice a little into the mixture and then throw in the slice.
Server over ice and garnish with oranges, lemons and limes. (or berries).

I’m making this over the weekend.  Paying it forward, starting with me and then I share.   Ya’ll enjoy!

;)

Posted by starwoodgal on June 24, 2008

#1:  I need less attitude from this dog!  (He talks to me when I’m late getting home.  Woo Woo!)

#2:  I need more pretty pink flowers and apparently, better aim with my camera. :)

My patio

#3.  I need the gophers to stop digging in my flower beds.  Die you suckers!

Jack

#4.  I need less slobber and a lot less tongue drippage from this dog.  I hate being slimed.

Tiger Lily

#5.  I need a better camera with a macro lens so I can take photos of my pretty flowers.

Gus in full sleep mode

#6.  I need a fork lift!  :)

Recipe: Pork Chops and Potatoes – Eash Schmeezy

Posted by starwoodgal on June 19, 2008

I haven’t posted a recipe in a while and I made this recipe this past Monday night. Sorry I didn’t get any photos before the boys scarfed it up. They love this dish! This recipe is very easy and economical when feeding 4 to 6 people. No fuss or muss! So let’s get crackin’.

Mimi’s Pork Chops and Potatoes

4 to 6 pork chops
6 Cups thinly sliced raw potatoes
1 large onion, sliced thin
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can evaporated milk

Salt and pepper pork chops and brown in skillet. Cook the potatoes in boiling salted water for 5 to 8 minutes. Drain thoroughly. Place potatoes and onions in a large buttered making dish. Mix soup and evaporated milk and pour over the potatoes and onions. Place the browned chops on top of potatoes. Cover dish with foil and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Removed foil and continue to bake for 20 minutes.

(ps. sometimes I put shredded cheddar cheese on top of the potatoes just before putting the pork chops on top. Yummy!)
